Filmmakers Calvin and Christel Crane have returned from two months on the road.  The Cranes traveled across the nation filming the first episode in the documentary film series The Long Way Home Project.
The national filming schedule began in Florida and includes interviews with a number of veterans – unknown and notable.  “Americans have been led to believe that Vietnam Veterans are psychologically-damaged individuals.”
The facts completely refute this stereotype.  The vast majority are outstanding American citizens – husbands, fathers, grandfathers, business and community leaders.  It is our mission to be a voice for Vietnam Veterans who represented the United States in Vietnam and are proud of their service to their country.”
Traveling on the road with the Cranes were their three children: Sam – 13, Madison – 9, Jacob – 1 ˝ and their 13-year old dog Bo.  The Cranes felt that having their family along is a win-win situation.  “They bring us a perspective we wouldn’t have otherwise – this is a valuable asset because all of our films have family viewing in mind.”
Principal shooting for the episode “Men Versus Myth” took place in Florida, Georgia, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, Oregon, California, Arizona and Texas.
